1000 Paper Cranes for Peace
The Dalton McCaughey Library community is making something special in the lead-up to International Peace Day on 15 September.
1,000 paper cranes for peace.
That’s an ambitious community goal, so folding has started early. Building peace is bigger than an art project; but it can start with strong communities, reflective traditions, and inspiring symbols. And it’s something worth doing thoughtfully, patiently, creatively, and together.
Whether you’re a seasoned origami expert or completely new to crane-folding, drop in and help. Bring a friend. Fold between study sessions. Come when you need a mindful pause.
Everything you need is available here: paper, space, and simple instructions. Make one. Make ten. Every crane counts. We hope to see you (and your crane) in the library soon.
