Membership

The general public are welcome to research, read, and write in the library during opening hours, assuming the library’s Code of Conduct is followed.

Membership of the Dalton McCaughey Library is for:

  • Faculty of Pilgrim Theological College and Trinity College Theological School
  • Students enrolled in a unit at Pilgrim Theological College or Trinity College Theological School
  • Ministers, lay preachers, candidates, and staff in lay ministry positions of the Uniting Church in Australia (Synod of Victoria and Tasmania)
  • Members of the Society of Jesus (Province of Australia)
  • Licenced clergy of the Anglican Province of Victoria
  • Current University of Divinity staff and students who have access to the print collections.

Paid Membership

Borrowing and access to electronic resources is otherwise available via paid membership. Our current rates and conditions, inclusive of GST, are:

  • $60 for 6 months
  • $120 for 12 months
  • 30 books borrowed at the same time
  • 28 day initial loan
  • 2 renewals, subject to recall if required for a class or another patron

Other forms of Membership

Pilgrim and Trinity alumni who are not clergy may purchase a life-time membership for a one-time fee of $95. This is normally done at the time of graduation.

The DML has a reciprocal borrowing agreement with the University of Melbourne through the University of Divinity. University of Melbourne patrons must provide a current UniMelb ID when borrowing items, and have a 10-book limit with a single 28 day loan and no renewals.
