Each conversation is informed by the latest edition of the Quarterly Essay—a journal publishing a single long-form political, intellectual or cultural opinion essay every issue.

Food & Drink

Coffee and tea before the event, and lunch afterwards is available for purchase at Sage & Grace Café.

Please note hot drinks cannot be taken into the library.


Reading Quarterly Essay

To attend and contribute meaningfully to the conversation, participants are encouraged to read the current issue’s essay beforehand.

You can read a copy of this event’s Quarterly Essay at the Dalton McCaughey Library. Copies will be available at most other libraries. It can be purchased in print and digital formats at most bookshops, newsagents and by direct subscription.
